why is wow so easy now?
heya all
i had an urge too level a shaman the other day and i started on a new server where i had no gold, item or BoA stuff... and im amazed how easy the game has become....i really one shoot the mobs even when i have no gear at all 115 AP O_o
i have played since vanilla and i remeber how tough it was back then
so im wondering how come they have made the game THIS easy?
Edit after i read i few posts: i dident mean the xp rates or stuff like that... i meant that a no geared charr at level 15-ish can one shoot nearly any mob in that level =/

Your skill has improved? That's what I figured when I recently started a new char and found really simple to quest.
They have changed Exp tables to make leveling to 80 faster, but that shouldn't affect the difficulty of the environment, so I'm not really sure. It does seem easier though.

Levelling was never hard. It used to be more tedious and grindy, but don't confuse that with actual challenge.

I don't know, I remember dying occasionally when questing and having to drink potions and food between pulls, now there is never even a reason to top off my life.

Try fighting level 80+ mobs? They aren't really a walk in the park.. granted, this is from a priest POV(pre buffs)
Also, they made leveling easier so you can get to the max level faster, not having to spend weeks leveling from 1-85 is a pretty big thing if you ask me.Judging the quality of a game based on the low level quests, makes about as much sense as assuming you could be a great football player, because you can catch a football..

Health and mana regeneration were significantly increased for the first 10 levels some time ago. You could probably find the patch notes that indicated the change, if you were so inclined.

If you look at all the patch notes for questing leveling over lets say 3 years to be fair, they changed alot.
Ranging from amount of xp needed per level, when you can get a mount to make questing faster, the new leveling zones, added quest lines.
To character skills, example the more recent removable of weapon skill points, no need to go through half a level to get max damage out of a weapon now on higher level mobs.Is the game easy? No, it is very challenging in some apspects of the game, however, since TBC, they wanted to focus on end game max level stuff, because that is what the game is most about.
Leveling is great and fun and yes now very very easy.
I would use the term easier than when I first leveled a toon without BOA's or gold or high level toons to help me.

No actually the game has become easier. Back then killing mobs was sort of like killing a 84 mob at twilight highlands as a lvl84. It takes a lil bit, some classes its 4 seconds, and others its 15 seconds or more. Nowadays in the low lvls 1-20 especially (especially WITH boa gear) mobs are ridiculous easy. And why? It's because of the talent revamps. Every class gets their "Main ability" at lvl10, and before that things are just easy to begin with. But at lvl 10 you get your OP ability. Mages can nearly 1 shot things as arcane, feral druids are ridiculous with mangle, etc.
This doesn't hold true for EVERY spec or class, but even Disc Priests with Penance feel OP. Things begin to even out a lil bit more around lvl30 area and up, but it's still a lot easier then i remember it. Even 60-80 is easier then it was in BC/Wrath, and it's mostly because of talent changes. We all got more powerful in the lower levels but even out in the higher lvls it seems. Though some classes and specs it just doesn't hold true because your lvl 60 ability isn't unlocked till 68 or whatever now.
long story short, the flow of things were rather messed up with new lvl10 abilities and talent overhaul altogether. Some classes rock at certain lvls, ok at others.
Edit: and the guy before me reminded me, yes weapon skills. marginally make a small difference as you dont have to lvl them anymore PLUS most importantly, you don't have to train spells anymore than once. Whereas before your sinister strike at lvl22 or whatever rocked for lvl22, but by lvl26 it was Meh. Now they all lvl up with you. Makes plenty sense.

Epic!
They don't want people to /ragequit until they hit endgame content so they can get the most money out of their sub.

So after playing the game for six years and undoubtly gaining experience and knowledge of how to play the game, it gets easier?
Go figure.

Leveling was never hard. One of the major differences is that at level 10 you get a fairly powerful set of abilities based on your spec that you didn't get until much later back in Vanilla or TBC. Another huge factor is that when you leveled your first character, you were an idiot. I don't mean that as an insult at all. We were all idiots back then, myself most definitely being included.
Your skill and knowledge in the game, combined with the new more streamlined questing, combined with the lowered XP required to level, combined with the new talent tree system, combined with the built in quest helper, combined with your familiarity of all of the zones, combined with a lot of the gear at low level being revamped to more useful stats... all add up to questing flying currently compared to the time it took in vanilla.

Oh this game is easy now?
How many raid bosses have you downed?Judging this games difficulty by the first half hour of play, made so that any person with no experience in the game can get through it easily and without dying (if it's hard and you die a lot, you don't want to purchase the game, ya know.)

leveling is more smooth and fun, and as they say, when you have fun, time fly. before leveling was grinding and slow, no fun.

No challenge, even when leveling is a bad thing IMO. All it does is prepares people to suck in dungeons later on, because they didn't have to try while leveling. To me that's not fun, I'm glad I learned most of my classes before all of this changed and it was actually a bit of a challenge to quest.

Since leveling is the main goal of the game.

Blizzard said that they wanted talents in low level to feel rewarding. plus, why its easier? because Blizzard found out that many new players quitted early, because they didnt like the questing. now its so awesome that doing Loremaster on you 85 main can be amusing. ---------- Post added 2011-02-17 at 09:23 PM ----------
